How acneonneck.com handles data

acneonneck.com operates as a site of its own and sets what it measures, so it is responsible for that data. You can reach it at privacy@acneonneck.com.

Data collected

• Visit statistics: pages viewed, the referring page, how long and how far you read, links and buttons used, and device details such as screen size, browser language and time zone.
• The neck zone map: your pick is handled inside your browser and not sent, except for the zone name carried in the link of the button under the card if you choose to press it.
• Host server logs: IP addresses, browser types and requested pages, kept for security and operation.

Counting visits

Your browser posts statistics to /api/whisper on this site, which hands them to an analytics provider (EU) storing them on servers in the European Union. The IP address is passed along so a rough location, like the country, can be derived. A random code in session storage connects the pages of a single visit and is erased when you close the tab, so different visits stay unconnected. There are no statistics cookies. For visitors in the EU, nothing is counted until "OK" is chosen.

The acne.today links

Buttons such as "Start my neck check" go through acneonneck.com/neck-scan and on to acne.today, an independent service with a paid report. The link shows acne.today which site and button you came from. Anything you provide there is governed by acne.today's privacy policy.

Legal basis

• Statistics about EU visitors: consent, which you can withdraw at any time through "Statistics choice" at the bottom of the home page.
• Statistics about other visitors, and server logs: the legitimate interest of running a safe, working site.
• Emails you send: so they can be answered.

What your browser keeps

• nk_count: your statistics answer, in local storage, never sent, until you clear it.
• nk_bar: that you closed the bottom bar, in session storage, until the tab closes.
• nk.a, nk.b, nk.c, nk.d: random visit code, start time, page count and campaign zone for statistics, in session storage (not cookies), until the tab closes.

Storage periods

Server logs: up to 90 days. Emails: only while needed to help you, never longer than two years.

Recipients

The analytics provider and the host, each receiving only what its job requires. Data is not sold.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion or a copy of your data, ask to restrict its use, or object to it. Email privacy@acneonneck.com and expect a reply within four weeks. You may also complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Changes

When this page is updated, the date at the top is updated with it.
